Paul Brembly
Baritone
"It's a blessing and a pleasure to be part of the history and legacy of The Golden Gate Quartet!" States, the group's baritone, Paul Brembly, who is also today the group's leader. Along with second tenor Clyde Wright, who oversees the group's business affairs. Orlandus Wilson led and was leader of the group for over 60 years. He passed away on December 31st, 1998. Wilson was also Brembly's great uncle.
In 1971, Brembly started with the group, replacing baritone Caleb Ginyard. Whose illness made it impossible for him to continue. Prior to coming with The Golden Gate Quartet, Brembly was active with the I. C. Norcom High School Choir, junior choir at church, and was part of a R'n'B outfit called The Soul Symphonics Band. That was a lot of fun back then.
"I guess I've always been a part of music, and music a part of me. But being with The Golden Gate Quartet was and is a whole learning experience. I was lucky to have Orlandus Wilson, Clyde Riddick, and Clyde Wright at the time I came in. Thanks to them, they helped me to arrive, where I am in the group today! I was always a fan myself and the music speaks for itself and just like Old Man River; I hope that the Lord will continue to bless The Golden Gate Quartet, and let our music roll on and on."
